While a lot of wakesurfers are taking the winter off, CMS team riders Chris Wolter and Mitch Lemos have been not only riding, but progressing and filming along the way. Chris has recently started learning how to edit and this teaser is one of his first efforts. Hopefully we can see a lot more videos from Chris in the future!

Inland Surfer and Wakeshredder rider Vanessa Gonzalez is now the newest member of the California Marine Sports wakesurf team.

From Brentwood, CA, Vanessa is a local Bay Area wakesurfer who calls the delta home. We are excited to have Vanessa join the team. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2012!

Vanessa may be new to the wakesurf scene, but she is quickly making a name for herself. In 2011 she hit the contest circuit by storm, traveling around the country to compete in the major events. But even at a competitive level, Vanessa keeps things fun with the signature Wakeshredder Crew style. When you see her ride there  is no doubt that she loves wakesurfing.

How long have you been doing water sports?
I started and instantly fell in love with the sport September 2010.
What is your biggest accomplishment as a wakesurfer?
I am still very new to the sport and have many accomplishments to look forward to, but for now I would have to say landing my first 360 was a highlight and placing first at the Minneapolis competition. Oh, I will never forget the first time I dropped that rope.
What are you looking forward to with wakesurfing in 2012?
I am looking forward to stepping up my game, landing new tricks and just remembering the most important part of the sport is making sure you are having fun. I am hoping to place, in as many competitions as possible and to ride with as many people as I can.

Centurion Boats announces the World Series of Wake Surfing for 2012. The establishment of this competitive series gives riders an opportunity to compete and qualify for the premier wake surfing event in the world. Four events crossing the nation will lead up to the Centurion World Wake Surfing Championship scheduled for September in Parker, Arizona.

Competitors will need to compete at one of the World Series events to be considered for riding at the World Championship. The most significant and highest caliber wake surfing events have been selected to make up the World Series. More information on each event will be available on Centurion and World Wake Surfing Championship websites in the near future.
